weirdest episode - definitely oneo f them is the old soft shoe

I mean he's taking a bath, then suddenly a crazy ghost appears out of nowhere. LOL

not to mention the turtle with the candle in its back @ motel clerk's desk. That was just bizarre.

Yeah, this is definitely a weird one alright. Here's my take on it...

Chester (aka "Soft Shoes") is a traveling lingerie salesman who SHOULD be heading back home to his wife Marian, but, for some reason, he'd rather stay at the motel that he's calling from, telling his wife that the weather is a lot worse than it is.

As soon as he hangs up the phone, he starts hitting on a hot chick (Carol) who is clearly not interested.

She beats him to the last cottage available, but he notices a key on the wall for one more cottage, so he talks the motel manager (Arthur) into letting him have it, even though Arthur tells him that he never rents out that cottage...EVER!

He gets into his cottage, starts up a bath, peeks at Carol through a hole in the wall, and then falls asleep on a chair.

And at this point, weird things start to happen which gives me two different ways in which this episode can go...

1) A mysterious woman (Glenda) comes out of nowhere to stop his bath before it overflows, wakes him up, and starts calling him Harry and modeling lingerie for him, as if she knows him well.

He has no idea who this woman is, but he likes the idea of a hot chick hitting on him for a change, so he plays along.

Carol pounds on the door and complains about the loud music. Glenda gets jealous (about her and also upon just finding out that he's married), so she whips out a gun and shoots him twice.

He can barely make it out of the cottage and back to the office, but by the time he does, the blood is all gone and the wounds have all been healed. So Arthur doesn't believe his story and tells him to lay off the booze.

Despite these bizarre events, he goes back to the cottage, Glenda magically reappears, and they continue their romantic evening as if the shooting never happened.

And just when things are about to get all steamed up in the bath tub, here comes Carol again. And this time, Glenda has had enough of this cheater, so she finishes him off for good by drowning him.

As it turns out, Harry is Arthur's father, who was drowned about 30 years earlier on the same day in the same cottage in the same bath tub by the same woman, who then killed herself shortly after being questioned by the police. She's been haunting that cottage ever since, patiently waiting for Harry's return.

2) Chester falls into deep slumber, being slightly aroused by seeing Carol nude through the hole and a little saddened that she showed no interest in him before, so he dreams up an even-hotter chick for a wonderful evening of dancing and romance. But just when things are getting good, his dream abruptly turns into a nightmare.

Then (shortly after this episode ends), he wakes up to pounds on the door from Carol telling him to turn off the overflowing water, and even though Chester has a big mess to clean up, he is extremely relieved to find out that it was ALL just a dream and that he's still alive. He vows to never EVEN THINK about cheating ever again and heads back home to Marian, stopping to get some roses on the way.

As for the turtle with candle on its back, I have no explanation. Maybe it has some kind of connection to the original drowning of Harry, but I have no idea what that connection might be.
