Now that he's been a "serious actor" for some time now, I'm wondering if Tom's ever relaxed long enough to laugh it up with anyone during an interview about all the sordid hijinks he engaged in for Bachelor Party. Anyone know? If you have any links to interviews, please send them along. Thanks.

EMPIRE: Do you get a sense that people still have a lot of affection for comedies like Bachelor Party and Dragnet...
HANKS: They're kind of like set in time now.
EMPIRE: Men of a certain age love Bachelor Party...
HANKS: I'm proud of a lot of stuff in Bachelor Party. I think I'd just turned 27 years old and I'm ripping it up. We all did. Ripped it up.
EMPIRE: I guess you can't go back to that kind of comedy.
HANKS: One of the reasons I think there is an affection, which I share to some extent, for Dragnet and Bachelor Party is because I'm the guy in the movie. But I wasn't the only guy playing him. There were a lot of people playing the young guy getting laid, making his way in the world, wisecracking; a goofy guy who somehow gets the girl without being really good-looking. It was sort of where the national zeitgeist was. I said: "Okay, it's time for that to be done." There were plenty of opportunities, plenty of screenplays stacked up, but I just felt I didn't have anything to give it anymore. I couldn't go back and embrace that, not only because of where I was as a professional craftsman, but also because of where I was as a man. I didn't want to do it again.
I'd love to see him talk about this film. It isn't a bad film, just not a masterpiece.

Earlier than 2009, I think mid 200-something I did see a small tidbit on either Starz or some entertainment magazine show that featured parts of the movie. Classic line Hanks said when asked about the whereabouts of the cast and producers of Bachelor Party "I think all those people are probably DEAD"
I think it's cool to see him in this crazy role, he was once a wild 20 something yr old, and not a serious actor yet.
shareNeal Israel, who directed BP and Moving Violations, said on the Moving Violations DVD that he ran into Tom Hanks at a party not long ago and avoided him out of fear of how Hanks would receive him. To his surprise Hanks came over to him and thanked him for the great experience making Bachelor Party.
shareFunny, I was born in 1978 (33 today) and when I was growing up I knew Tom Hanks first as the wild young goofy guy that did comedies like Bachelor Party, Dragnet and Turner and Hooch. My God I even remember him from his Bossom Buddies days. I still remember watching Bachelor Party on TV when I was like 10 in the late 80s and I thought it was a great film at the time. I wanted to be part of Hanks crew.
Then later as I continued to grow up I watched him mature into a man and then a middle aged man and the guy he is now.
I only say that because I get the distinct impression most of you guys weren't really around in the 80s to know or remember Hanks first as the wild young goofy dude before he started winning Oscars in the 90s.
Actually he isn't far from the truth. As far as I have read three of the cast of BP are in fact dead. Christopher Morley (She-Male Tim.). Wendy-Jo Sperber and George Grizzard have passed away.
