It says in Kevin Smith's (Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back) IMDB bio that he wanted to do a remake of CHUD, however...
He states in the director's commentary of Dogma that he wanted to reference the movie on screen in Dogma, but it's impossible to find the person who holds the rights to CHUD... he speculates that the CHUDs got him. :)
So, no remake until that person is found. :(

While I normally feel it's blasphemous to do so, I think C.H.U.D. is a flick that really could be remade. Advances in CGI would allow you to have scenes with packs of CHUDS, as opposed to the one or two guys in suits the original had. If someone like Kevin Smith did it, it'd probably be pretty good.

I think the C.H.U.D.'s should just be people with make-up as opposed to idiotic rubber costumes. You know when Victor started to transform? I agree with Daniel Stern that's all a C.H.U.D. should or needs to be.

NO NO NO! No more CGI crap and no more remakes! Please, I'm sick of my favorite horror films getting the remake treatment. Just leave them alone and let Hollywood come up with their own ideas. The last thing we need is a pack of CHUDS doing the running zombie CGI thing. The movie is fine, let's leave it alone.
