At the premiere of Halloween Rob Zombie said he is interested in making a remake of CHUD AND ITS BOUND TO BE RELEASED BY 2009 OR 2010.After I saw the Halloween remake I doubt if hes ever gonna pull one off.....
All his movies suck....He has gives the excess violence and nudity to give the disturbing factor....
WHAT HAVE YOU GUYS GOTTO SAY??????

I tend to hate remakes, but I have to say that I do enjoy Rob Zombie's movies. The main reason is because these are movies that he to has loved. I think it's interesting to see his point of view and vision for them.

I heard the Weinsteins want to remake C.H.U.D, and if that's the same thing as Zombie interested, I'd like to know how Zombe would approach THIS project. I mean, most, if anything, ALL his films take place in the backwater areas of th USA. C.H.U.D takes place in NYC, very urban areas. That's a big contrast to what Zombie usually does. And, he tends to put very "Southern-ish" folk into his movies, yet with NYC as a setting, he'd have to go New Yorker since a bunch of redneck characters would feel outta place in NYC. Maybe replace the southern twang with Brooklyn/Bronx accents. Get outta here, yah mook!

I totally sh!t my pants just now reading the subject heading. No, it wouldn't work. He'd make it stylized horror instead of the semi-realistic documentary-esque type flick it should be

is there no more creativity left in hollywood?????

well there have always been re-makes.
But now they have been Re-making newer films and more often.
i don't have anything against a re-make such as The Thing (one of my favorite movies) but these newer ones like The Ring, the Texas Chainsaw massacre and Dawn of the Dead.... WTF?

Modern Re-makes tend to have more graphic violence but whit out the mood and atmosphere of the original, resulting in a movie less chocking than the original no mater how gory it is.
These original movies aren't new but still works according to us who like these type of films and because of this we can compare these two and see differences.

Modern movies is often like this: big budget + Computer effects = no mood, no hearth and a obvious feel of "lets make this movie gory as hell whit lots of cool stuff so all the kids will like it and we will get really rich!!!"

and the older movies is like this: Low budget + a dedicated director who is also a fan of the genre = lots of hearth, effort and because they don't have the money for thousands of effects they have a lot of mood and atmosphere instead.

off course this is not always correct but according to me this is for the most part as true as it gets.

B-D reader 'Darryl B' pointed us to a small article on shock rocker-turned-filmmaker Rob Zombie, which included a very small blurb that some of you might find interesting. According to Billboard.com Zombie might direct the remake of C.H.U.D., which Tim Cox was originally attached to. Zombie wouldn't confirm, we'll look further into the matter. In the original a rash of bizarre murders in New York City seems to point to a group of grotesquely deformed vagrants living in the sewers. A courageous policeman, a photo journalist and his girlfriend, and a nutty bum, who seems to know a lot about the creatures, band together to try and determine what the creatures are and how to stop them.

@ least we kno if Rob directs we can already confirm that Sheri Moon Zombie has a role in this lol

I BET you Sheri will play the part of the girlfriend of that photographer guy, Lauren Daniels, the part that was originally played by Kim Greist. I can also bet Zombie will get all nasty in that shower scene. The original didn't really show Kim naked, but I can bet my soul that Zombie will have Sheri all fully nude, dancing like a stripper in the shower until she realizes the drain gets plugged. When she gets the wire hanger to prod into the drain, she'll make orgasm noises until the blood starts to squirt on her.

Look on the bright side. Even if it is to be reduxed, at least Uwe Boll isnt involved to add insult to injury....
