good movie

I saw it when I was about 13 or 14 in 1996. my dad made the tape in the 80's and let my older sis watch it when she was about fourteen. he told her the chuds were going to come and get her. it scared her so bad. years later, I saw the tape, and my dad told me how he used to scare my sis. well later that nite, I was watching chuds and I looked out my bedroom window. there are potholes near my house, so I would peek out periodically and wonder if chuds were gonna emerge from the sewers and stalk my house.

C'mon, this movie is too dumb to be scary.

i ran out of stuff to say, yes.

that didn't make any sense......

Well, that basically summed it up. I don't have to add anything, accept this:

George Martin was the funniest thing in the whole movie!!! Just look at his expressions at the end!

I saw this movie today for the first time in 12 years. I must admit that I enjoyed it a lot. The acting was actually better than I had expected and the film entertained. Sure it stinks of 80's cheese but that is what I enjoyed about it. There were also some memorable quotes and I couldn't stop laughing when John Heard said "Thank God they deliver" after Daniel Stern came to the rescue.

Does this film have a Cult following?

The average 4.2 rating doesn't do it justice, I think it deserves around 6.5 :)

I think so too (about the rating) and I don't think many horror/cult film buffs know/care about it, which is a real shame. According to John Heard, on the commentary, that line was ad-libbed, which is pretty unbelievable. Most great lines are ad-libbed, like "Here's Johnny!" in The Shining and "Heh... it's gonna get ugly." in Session 9
