a cross country race, but only shows Arizona?
I watched this again recently and I realized that ALL the racing scenes are in the desert.
For example, they start on the West Coast and are driving to Connecticut.
After driving for over 24 hours, the Sheik is still in Arizona when the mobsters try to capture him. How does that work?
I realize that moving the production around three times, like they did in the first cannonball, was very expensive. But the first movie really felt like a cross country race when you see them in Georgia, and in locations like the St. Louis arch, the southwest desert, and the west coast at the end.
This movie looks like it was all shot in the same area.
