Where's Roger Moore?

Why didn't Roger Moore reprise his role as Seymour? Does anyone know? Was it a scheduling conflict with "A View to a Kill" or something?

I heard that after the 1st Cannonball the Bond producers made him sign a contract that he would never parody Bond again. That is most likely the reason he isn't in it.

reply

I bet the contrac said he couldn't parody Bond EXCEPT in a Bond movie.

Every time someone reveal Deathly Hallow spoilers, the Shadow kills a god.

thats correct, and its STILL something all Bond actors must agree to when signing up to the role of Bond.

reply

That is a shame cause he was really great in the first Cannonball Run movie. I thought his Seymour character was great!

According to his autobiography, he turned it down because he thought the joke was played out in the first one. IMO he was right.

He admits turning down the role is one of his biggest regrets because he's always wanted to work with Frank Sinatra.

reply

That is cool to hear but it is a shame that he turned down the role though and I am sure he does regret it now because he will not have a chance to work with Frank Sinatra again now.

both the first and this has the lowest rating possible in a movie review book i have, i only checked this out again because marilu henner has a part in it, usually when there is this kind of sequels, they have less big names, or sometimes people you've never heard of, to star in the follow up movie, i guess they couldn't hand out as big pay, but still pretty remarkable here they got all these major stars of the time, actors and singers, to return for the second one. notice kiel has a speaking part.

dug to deep to start from scratch,
hanging on to what built in the past,
can't find the path to tomorrows way,
catch me out in nowhere once yesterday breaks,
with nothing left but memories of youth,
see i lost the maps and tools,
now this forgotten world is what im hanging on to,
understand when you catch my rubble someday,
i've travelled too long to start all over again.
