Was Frank Sinatra really there?

It might just be me, but it looks like the scene with Frank Sinatra when they go to him for help; it looks like that scene was filmed seperately. I get the feeling that Frank was not on set at all and they probably filmed his scenes seperately so he would have to be bothered. The only time you see Frank in the same scene with them is when it shows the back of his head - and that could be anyone - an extra with a gray wig perhaps.

I've never seen it mentioned anywhere but I'm just wondering if it looks like that to you guys.

no, because in the bloopers at the end of the movie you see them all laughing. besides those were some of his best friends. i dont thinbk he had a problem with that

I just watched this part and they are definitely in the same room. Like Yankeeever mentioned, they were all friends at the time - The Rat Pack.

Im pretty sure i read that Sinatra was in fact filmed separately from the others and it is indeed a body double in the reverse shots. It's fairly obvious, the original poster was correct.

No, he was there. I recall seeing an episode of, I believe, the E! True Hollywood Story (or one of those biography shows) on, I believe, Sinatra, or maybe Shirley MacLaine, and they show a pic taken on set of Sinatra, Sammy, Dean, and Shirley sitting around laughing and smiling (Shirley MacLaine was like an honorary member of The Rat Pack).

he was on the set at the end when he shows up in the car after the big fight, but not when they meet him in the casino and ask for his help.

Ebert's review mentions the same thing. They may have all been on the set, but not at the same time:

FROM THE IMDB TRIVIA FOR THIS FILM:

Hal Needham, on the first film's commentary, talked about how Frank Sinatra showed up very early on the set of this film to get his parts shoot, and then left before the other actors even showed up. If you watch closely during the office scene, Sinatra is never on film with the other actors. A few times his back is shown with the other characters facing him, but this is a double.

Did you also notice how tall the stunt double appeared to be when standing at the desk? Frank was only 5'7", but he looked well over 6' tall when he was standing up at his desk.
