I watched the first one at the weekend and I really enjoyed it, I know it's dated but it still tickles me. I've always HATED the sequel. It looks so cheap and yet it has Sinatra!!! Does anyone know the history of the production? It looks like it may have had problems.
Watched it last nite on CMT - get rid of that cornpone hostess with her lame interviews!!!
Right away, I figured out it was a procession of comedians and actors doing their thing...that's the whole plot - no plot at all, just schtick.
That's why listing goofs has no connection to this genre - the total absence of anything other than 2 or 3 minutes of a bit, followed by another 2 to 3 minute bit - so it doesn't matter whether this color of street sign was in use in a certain intersection in 1984 or the color of a car's interior.
In my opinion it's easily as good as the first film. I think that it's a case of folks going along with the crowd, selective memory, and excusing things in the first film that they instead criticize in this one. They're really not that different.
