The fight at the end was totally unnecessary

It only helped prove Reverend Shaw Moore's argument that nothing good comes of dances (even though that's not true IRL...only in this movie because of that stupid/unrealistic/totally unnecessary fight scene). And speaking of Rev. Moore, where was he during the fight!? He and his wife were supposedly in the field overlooking the event. Anyway, that fight was a real downer in what I'd hoped (after 20 boring minutes of bible talk) would be an upbeat & fun ending.

Rev Moore was a bit pudgy around the middle. When he saw Chuck start crap, he began running towards the warehouse. By the time he huffed his way there, not only was the fight over but so was the dance...

I just checked with Vegas and they're giving 8-1 odds you're a millennial...

Nope.

I interpreted as Chuck needing to get his comeuppance, since he's arguably, the real villain in the movie, not Reverend Moore.

Reverend Moore was a good guy. He was trying to protect the kids even if he was misguided, but he always had their safety as his goal.
