I'm a HUGE fan of "Ghostbusters II" (1989). Am I alone in the universe?

To me it was a top notch sequel.
The brilliant sci-fi was in there.
The supernatural villain, very unique and original, was in there. Vigo is an icon of the Eighties.
The character-arc was in there, showing the Ghostbusters years later since their biggest mission, now far from their "heyday" and virtually forgotten by almost everyone, older but still able to save the world.
The comedy was in there.
The direction and the special effects were great for the time.

I love this sequel. I love it so much. It's an underrated classic, and AT THE TIME it was a huge hit.

Am I alone?

Good sequel - not superior to the original, but not bad. As far as sequels are concerned, it's pretty decent. If you take 100 sequels, it's going to be in the top 15. The bottom 50 are complete disasters. The top 3 are sequels which are better than the originals.

Definitely a good sequel. I no longer love it as much as the original (I did when younger because I was able to see it much more than the original) but I will always love it. I wish they hadn't damn near copied the first film plot point for plot point, but it still works well enough for me!

Hardly. I much preferred Ghostbusters II as a kid & still do having watched both as an adult.

Ways in which I thought GBII improved = Better villain, better chemistry between the stars, more Winston, less Louis(Useless, annoying character), Peter's subtle growth into a more likable, less selfish character.
