Abrupt ending (spoiler)
As abrupt an ending as I've ever seen in a movie, yet having said that, to have Johnny give Daniel the trophy afterwards was a classy ending. That was good writing.

The opening for Part II was originally to be the ending but wasn't filed.
I'm pretty sure the opening for Part II was the deleted ending from Part I and was already filmed. share
The trivia section says the opening scene of Part 2 was shot after the 2nd film's production began. You can see Ralph and Billy Zabka look a little different.

Funny what a difference 2 years can do to your looks.
As much as i like Tamlyn Tomita in the 2nd movie - i was dissapointed Elizabeth couldn't return for the sequel. Why did she choose to resume her Harvard studies at that particular time? Because she managed to return to work in 1987 to do Adventurers in Babysitting.
Its kinda like how true BTTF fans wished Claudia Wells stayed on as Jennifer, instead of ironically being replaced by Elizabeth Shue!
Still at least Mrs Larusso made a brief cameo in the 3rd, rather than never being mentioned again!
