Did anyone else feel keeping the glove in the basement was kinda strange? For one, it's evidence of their mob justice crime, and for two, it's a really morbid souvenir. I'm surprised Nancy didn't think to get rid of it, just in case it was responsible for Freddy "haunting" her and her friends.
share Well, the mom put the glove there, and truthfully, she unnerved me almost as much as Freddy, so who knows what her thought process was.
I got a chuckle out of the mom telling Nancy what they did to Freddy, brandishing his glove to drive the point home, and then assuring her daughter that she could sleep now cause everything was okay. Huh? How could anyone sleep again after all that?
Then again, as the ending suggests, maybe the movie was Nancy's dream, explaining to some degree the dream logic of putting a killer's murder weapon of choice in your basement.
Maybe the mom put the glove there as a stark reminder about appreciating your children and not taking them for granted. The bars in the window could suggest this.
