Judy Davis

Finally saw the film. I can't help but notice the film's final close up of Ms. Davis. What was she thinking? It gave me the impression that I was actually seeing Mrs. Moore and how she would have reacted had she not died. Quite enigmatic.

I don't know exactly how to read that final shot either--I don't think it was supposed to be a stand-in for Mrs. Moore (Stella's character was much more obviously that, I thought)--but as for the whole film, Judy Davis could not have been more perfectly cast or played the role any better. One of the most understated and underrated great film performances ever, IMHO.

That look is amazing, and the most memorable thing in the film. Perhaps one of the most memorable moments for me in cinema.
