I know she was an elderly actress and this was her last chance for an Oscar but her performance, although fine, was possibly one of the worst Oscar performances I've ever seen (excepting Jessica Lange in Tootsie). Totally flat.

OMG, Peggy Ashcroft was amazing!!
Check out the awards she won for that movie and you will see that the whole world thought she was amazing, too!

One of my favourite winners in the supporting actress category. A lovely, deeply moving performance - she completely lights up the screen.
