That moonlight scene...

when Mrs. Moore meets Aziz for the first time must be one of the most amazing scenes I've ever seen. You could feel the mystery, you could cut the tension with a knife... Beautiful

And the splash in the river at the end! Perfect.

Glitter on the mattress, glitter on the highway...

So true. It set up the idea of the film being about Very Big Things--life, death, afterlife or no afterlife, the smallness of man in nature and before fate, etc. Absolutely stunning, as was the rest of the film. Foreboding in a beautiful way, as in pondering the idea of one's own death and what might or might not lie beyond, obviously repeated in the scene off the stern of Mrs. Moore's boat later on.

The other poster is right, too--the splash at the end is a perfect punctuation to the scene.
