'A Passage to India' on Blu-ray Disc in March!

According to www.hidefdigest.com, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced that director David Lean's final film, "A Passage to India", will be released on Blu-ray Disc on March 15! (The release date was originally going to be April 15, but hey, the sooner the better!) And to think I was going to buy the regular DVD version of the movie! Well, I say forget the regular DVD, I'm buying the Blu-ray edition! Thank you Sony and thank you David Lean, for giving us a final film that ranks right up there with "Lawrence of Arabia"!

I have no plans to upgrade to Blue-Ray (despite promised upgrades of GWTW and CASABLANCA - current Special/Collectors' Editions will last me very nicely, thank you), but Sony will also be releasing a new Special Edition of PASSAGE on regular DVD, which really pisses me off - I really wish the studios would stop taking advantage of our passion for our favorite films and just do it right the first time. But no such luck, I guess. There's a sucker born every minute and they damn well know it!

Do you know whether the disk is region free or not? I live in Europe and would love to get a copy if it plays over here.

I just saw A Passage to India on Blu-ray and looks superb+!
I am eagerly waiting the Blu-rays for Lawrence of Arabia, Dr. Zhivago and The Bridge on the River Kwai.
