movie vs book
how close is the movie's storyline to the original storyline in the book?
are the events fairly similar and congruent or does the movie add a lot/ take out a lot/ change a lot?
the movie is close to the book (like plot) yes, but both are a very different experience. I do not remember the film very well, just remember i did not like it at all. The only thing I liked in it was Judy Davis as Adela Quested, and some beautiful images - the set and locations were good.
But the complex relationships (personal, cultural, racial) from the book, were very flat in the movie.
