Teen/college comedies with LOTS of nudity: Is the genre gone forever?

I thought I'd take a new spin on a thread someone else started below. Is it just me, or do teen/college/sex comedies since, say, 1999 or 2004 hardly ever have any nudity, or when they do it's no more than 2 or 3 brief topless flashes or a few butts?

I just got through watching Adam and Eve (NO topless shots), Remember the Daze (NO topless shots), and Senior Skip Day (2 BRIEF topless shots). The first American Pie had just Shannon Elizabeth really and that was it (not that 2 minutes of her isn't worth 3 hours at any strip joint :) ). Did 2 and 3 even HAVE any topless shots?

I mean back in the day you had Revenge of the Nerds, The Beach Girls, Hardbodies, I'm drawing a blank but this type of comedy back in the mid-80s was usually good for 7 to 10 topless shots at LEAST, especially if the movie was rated R!

Is there a change in the genre or am I just watching all the wrong movies?

P.S. Adam and Eve was actually, at least in my opinion, a pretty good movie, and Senior Skip Day was "okay". Remember the Daze was pathetic. Just didn't want anyone to think they were all bad movies, just that I wanted to see "more" of those hot girls.

You must have missed the last few American Pie movies and Dorm Daze 2, because they had alot of nudity in them. One even showed a girl who might have been transsexual in full frontal shot (in dream sequence). Wet T-Shirt contest. And two plump sized students banging each other.

But those were also low budget Direct-To-DVD Unrated movies. I think the OP was thinking more around the lines of theater released movies

What about the best Tom Hanks movie of all time: "Bachelor Party"?

reply

Actually that's a good question. I guess ROTN was popular in the theater, and I think Porky's was as well, but I'm not sure Hardbodies or The Beach Girls were blockbusters particularly, nor were movies like Spring Break or Private Resort or Weekend Pass etc.

Today, even with the Direct-to-DVD movies it's hard to find LOTS of nudity like back in the 80s, at least from my perspective. I listed several recent ones in my OP that had almost none.

So I guess I'm talking about both.

we've got bush!!

don't point that beard at me, it might go off... Groucho marx

I don't remember Band Camp and The Naked Mile having "lots" of nudity, but I've slept with then so I might be wrong. Another poster below mentioned Beta House, I might look at that one.

I personally don't find "bathroom humor" funny (on the contrary it majorly turns me OFF), but that's just me, so I'll take a pass on the transexual and the plumpies.

I like wet t-shirt contests though :).

Can you think of any other more recent teen/college comedies with LOTS of nudity like the AP series?

reply

Check out "American Pie: Beta House".

reply

That did have some good nudity in it. Some disgusting scenes though.

Lately, they seem to be tame, though I haven't watched that many. Kind of outgrew the genre. Revenge of the Nerds will always hold a special place in my heart as the first movie I ever saw that had bush in it.

If you are going to show nudity, balance it with sexy male nudity. It would be nice to see more frontal MALE nudity. Half the population is not male, you know.

I was watching this nerd movie and there was so much gratuitious nudity in there, I was shocked for 1980s standards.

reply

Anytime that there is full frontal MALE nudity, the movie will receieve an X or NC-17 rating.

Bachelor Party barely had nudity in it, just the stuff in the cut up porno and the girl they brought for Rick in the bedroom

outta my bed red riding hood this aint no flophouse

if you weren't a teenager in the 80's you just wouldn't understand how good we had it back then....

truer words have rarely been seen on this board!

Ditto

"We've got bush" is probably something you won't hear uttered in a movie again due to the lack of women with it, and that is a shame.

"We've got razor burn!"?
