"Yeah, but that's with a guy"

You’d think everyone would’ve accepted, even supported, Lamar’s being gay. Was it insensitive, then, for Booger to discredit Lamar’s party date on the basis of his being a guy? I realize Booger wasn’t exactly Mr. Sensitive, but this just didn’t ring true for me.

They were trying to impress UN by throwing a party which girls would attend. Lamar showing up with guy was not going to help their cause. Booger was not being homophobic just stating that Lamar's date was not going to impress UN.

You have to understand that this film took place at a time when homosexuality was not really accepted. The nerds should be given credit for accepting Lamar. In the 1980s I doubt that there were too many fraternities that would have accepted someone who was openly gay.

I think he is just commenting on the fact that yeah, Lamar has a date, but not with a foxy chick, as Booger would have. He didn't object to Lamar's date being there. The whole thing started when Lewis asked if any of them had dates besides Gilbert and Lamar mentioned he did. Booger is thinking Lewis was talking about girl dates. And then Lewis asks him about his own prospects and he told him he'd been out combing high schools all day.
