Instead of that witch? IMO she's the only thing that makes this film just a bad ilm instead of the cult classic it could be.

god knows but it could have been even worse if dolly parton accepted the role since they asked her first

Supergirl didn't have exactly a great villains rogue...

True that. Now I haven't seen the movie in YEARS, but I can recall never thinking much of Faye Dunaways villain. I just think that Parton would be even worse.

She did have a couple of villains who fought her more than once, like Lesla Lar and Starfire, but it wasn't until the movie was filming that Supergirl's comic book writer Paul Kupperburg created the two baddies that became somewhat well known; Reactron and Blackstarr. Reaction actually appeared in the current series.

The Salkinds clearly had zero clue how to handle this property.

I mean, the Silver Age Supergirl didn't really have an extensive rogues' gallery. I did realise later on that Selena actually did make sense in that the Super-characters might have had super-strength, but they were generally vulnerable to two things:

1.) Kryptonite

2.) Magic

Absent kryptonite in the Supergirl movie, magic was served up in the power-hungry witch, Selena, who finds her cheap parlour tricks can now be enhanced to the nth degree by the Omegahedron.
