Not being included in Superman Motion Picture Anthology!?

Seeing as how this is direct spin-off of the Reeves films, this movie should definitely be included in the upcoming Anthology set. What gives?

I found a video on YouTube of a guy ranting about this and I pretty much feel the exact same as him. He basically says that Supergirl is part of this series and the set feel incomplete without this movie.

Check it out at the link below:

The guy who is ranting is a bit of a creep, dissing the movie and then saying it should be included. NOBODY listens to people like that! GROW UP! GROW UP! BUT - his points are valid and I nonetheless agree with them.

It cann´t be incluided cause the distribution rights don´t belong to Warner Bross. On 1983 The Salkinds produced the film independietly but with the overseen of Warner Bros who supossedly would distribute the movie. But on the last moment, Warner were not happy with "Superman 3" box office and they dropped it. The distribution rights were bought by Tri-Star.

Warner's released Supergirl on DVD back in '06, but didn't include it in the Superman DVD Anthology, so I'm not the least bit surprised they aren't including it with the blu-rays either.
I don't really mind, I am quite happy with the Anchor Bay "Limited Edition" DVD set.

reply

Absolutely. Why can't they pretend that Superman IV never happened and ship with this instead?

Supergirl doesn't have the balls required to be in the Superman anthology set.

Exactly.
I think it's pretty obvious why Supergirl is not part of the Superman anthology.

I actually bought this separately because it was not included in the Superman Collectors set released in 2006. I bought it at a local video store and the cashier was basically trying to talk me out of buying it. I told him I’ve seen the movie and know it is not very good but wanted it because it is in the same era of Superman films as the Chris Reeve movies and I wanted to basically complete that set. We somehow ended up arguing over how bad I thought the Donner cut was LOL... IMO this should have been the collector’s edition release and the anthology.
