When Atreyu asks Gmork who he really is, the wolf says he's a servant of the force behind the nothing. Gmork seemed ok with being destroyed by the nothing and serving the force behind it. Did they ever explain in teh book what the force was?
shareIt's been a while since I read the book, and I forget if the "force" behind the nothing is explained. Gmork, however, is explained as a being who existed between worlds, belonging neither to Fantasia or the human realm. He explained that he was helping the nothing due to bitterness that he never had a place to belong.
