I think you may be referring to Steve Owen who accidentally killed his ex, Saskia at the E20 nightclub back in '99 and had Matthew Rose sent to prison for it instead, He left a note behind for him after his funeral saying "Rot In Hell" for all the grief and terror he put him through and Dan Sullivan left one that said "Gotcha!" on it after the whole business of him kidnapping Mel nearly a year before. I can't remember the full details sadly.
