President Trump

There were a few Trump jokes on the series. I recall Blanche saying something at one point, and in the "Jeopardy" episode Dorothy told Merv Griffin that he was the "anti Trump." I just wonder what Bea Arthur and Rue McClanahan would have thought of Donald Trump being President. Well I can imagine what they would have probably thought, but I wonder what they would have had to say about it, Lol.

I didn't mean this post to be a political debate or anything. I just was interested as to what both actresses would have had to say. I am not sure of Rue McClanahan's political affiliation, but I'm pretty sure Bea Arthur was a devoted democrat, and she was never shy about sharing her opinion.

I've been watching the show on Hulu. I've noticed the Trump jokes. I'd forgotten how well known he was back in the 80s. I didn't pay much attention to him then so it's funny to hear them now.

Most likely Estelle would have called Trump a carpetbagger and Betty White would have been the opposite of Rose-- keenly aware of Whitewatergate, Benghazi, etc.

Keep current politics discussion out of old shows.
