Was Kirk Cameron responsible for Dusty Springfield's removal from theme?

About a year after Cameron's religious awakening with accompanying homophobia, lesbian Dusty Springfield's voice is replaced on the theme song for the show. Is it possible that Cameron played a role in this as he did in the firing of Julie McCullough?

reply

Quite frankly, I never really cared much for the Dusty Springfield version of the theme (as well as the dreaded acapella version from the the second to last season I believe). The best version was the one w/ B.J. Thomas and Jennifer Warnes. I guess part of my problem is that I like Springfield's rather raspy voice and trying to overpower the song ("BABY, rain or SHINE!!!").

Christians do not have anything against listening to a lesbian singing.

reply

Of course they do.

Christians object to all forms of immorality.

I don't know, but if he did, good for him. 

Being gay is not imoral. Not in the least.

Wow. What a bigoted comment. I'm a (straight) Christian & have noting against gay people. Love is love which is always better than hate. Then again there are the over zealous Christians who use religion & their beliefs to shove in other people's faces but all religions have people like that.
