Did anyone watch the season one episode " Thank God its Friday" cocaine

hahaha.

So Mike and Boner and Eddie go to this party and its super fab 80s coolness and some older alumni from his HS are there and they wasn't to fit in and KRISTY SWANSON yes her, offers him a little of the white mischief, and he geeks out and is conflicted. the episode and its message ends up being a righteous one at that, the talk Mike and the dad have at the end is well, they judt don't do that anymore on tv and its soo much more innocent than it is now. long live the 80s television programs. the issues , the naivety and the realness of all of it.

Yes I do remember...It's that shows nowadays don't teach lessons of everyday life. Everything is about reality or lack there of shows. All nonsense...shows were better before the 2000s...

Are you kidding? This is the golden age of TV. Shows like growing pains were all fluffy nonsense

Not if you're looking for family shows (which I'm not but have noticed have gone by the wayside). The golden age is Mad Men, Breaking Bad etc but tell me one network show really suitable for a 9 year old (my age when this came out). Innocence has been lost and its a shame

I just had a similiar conversation with someone else. "Wholesome" family shows that the entire family can watch together aren't nearly as common as they used to be. With cable and multiple TV/tablet homes, few families watch TV together, which means that the networks don't have a reason to create that type of show anymore.

Yeah, because watching the Kardashian sisters argue about who has the nicest smelling vajayjay is real cutting edge TV. 

Apples and Oranges. You are comparing scripted shows to Reality shows. The wire,Breaking bad,Sopranos,Mad Men. There were no or very few equivalents to those shows back then.

Alf,different strokes, dukes of hazard,whos the boss. Those were truly terrible shows

You're right, a lot of those "classic" shows are crap but unfortunately, reality TV seems to be the dominant driving force these days.

Wait a second, so you are saying that this show represents its hero using cocaine, and then you are calling that a "righteous message?"  That makes no sense whatsoever.

A righteous message would be for the hero never to use cocaine in the first place and to condemn its usage by others too.
