Inappropriate Maggie Seaver Comment ???

Just heard a line uttered by the Maggie Seaver (Joanna Kerns) character that makes me wonder if it's something that would have been considered inappropriate had it been said by a male character on this show.

In the season 2 episode (#6) entitled "Dream Lover", Maggie Seaver is having 'girl talk' with daughter Carol (Tracey Gold) regarding the captain of her high school's football team, whom Carol has been tutoring. At one point mother Maggie actually says to daughter Carol, "Have you noticed, um, Bobby's cute bottom?".

Now just imagine if father Jason Seaver (Alan Thicke) had ever pulled son Mike (Kirk Cameron) over and said, "Hey, I couldn't help noticing the nice rack on your girlfriend Julie tonight.....".

In what world would the writers of the show have ever dreamed of trying to get away with something like that, yet nobody has any problem with 33 year old "mother" Joanna Kerns not only 'checking out' 16 year old boys, but commenting on it to her own daughter ???

Good point... it is inappropriate...and I would have been really put out if Jason said a similar thing to Mike about Julie or Kate.

Considering Alan Thicke was dating a young Kristy Swanson at the time, that wouldn't be to far from the truth.

Well Jason Seaver isn't Alan Thicke.
Did Jason Seaver ever say anything like that about a younger female character on the show?
