Ok, this is going to be sort of vague, but here goes: I remember flipping channels years ago and coming across an episode of MacGyver. At least, I THINK it was MacGyver. He was talking to a young, tomboyish-looking girl. They were outside in a parking lot or something. I think they were arguing and for some reason, he threatened to spank her. She took off running and when he caught up to her, she said "You wouldn't, would you?" He said, "No, of course not!" Then she started talking about her brother or someone who had died.

I know that sounds like a strange scene to remember, but that's all I've got lol! I must've changed the channel after that. Anyway, I've been looking through the episodes on Netflix and I can't find anything like this. There's no character that looks like the girl I remember. Did I dream this? Do I have it mixed up with another show? Does anyone remember a scene like this?

That kind of sounds like Thief of Budapest episode (S1 Ep3). A Gypsy pickpocket girl stole a watch from Macgyver's friend who later died. Mac caught up with her to get his swiss knife back and the watch. Then they went to see her brother who she gave the watch to.

That episode doesn't have any spanking threats and I don't recall Macgyver ever saying that line in any episode.

I watched that episode and no, that's not the one. The girl I remember was a little older than that. Possibly in her early teens. And from what I recall, she was the "tough street kid" type. I think she had short hair, but I could be wrong about that. As far as the spanking threat, I remember them saying those lines very distinctly. It's quite possible it was a different show, or maybe even a movie from the 80's. But I could have SWORN it was MacGyver lol!

I believe it's called Nightmares, Season 1, episode 11.
The girl was Lisa Allen, played by Tammy Lauren.

I just checked, and that's not it.

no not dreaming , where the girl is a genius and has the plans for some space project or bomb and they are trapped in a lab , 2 episodes I think . Forget the name but I'll try to find it , the ugly duckling season 1 ep 18
