Of course. LOL :)

LOLOL!

I only just started watching this show recently, on Antenna TV.

Those names she comes up with are hilarious and make me think of a verbal version of the sweatshirts from different schools worn by Ted Knight's character on "Too Close for Comfort."

reply

Oh, is this funny!

LOLOL!

"Mr. Blowhole" is probably my favorite.

Thanks for posting!

hahaha ! That's one of my favorites, as well.

I'm trying to think of the ones she had in the Spanish version...

Señor Borbotón,
Señor Barrabás,
Señor Bolondrón...

I have to go see if there´s any Spanish versions available online.

In "Grandma" (season 3, episode 2), before the opening credits, Angela actually calls him Mr. Belvedere! He does not react to her addressing him correctly. Perhaps this was a mistake or oversight in the script.

Oooh, I'll have to go back and check that out. Thanks !

I was mistaken. I rewatched this episode on YouTube. Actually, Heather is the one who calls him Mr. Belvedere, not Angela.

I thought there was at least one episode where Angela calls him by his correct name, but maybe not. It seems as though the writers were consistent with the idea of the bungled names from the beginning. It would have been funny if Michele Matheson had accidentally called him Mr. Belvedere in an episode and no one (either characters or writers/producers/director) noticed.

F.Y.I. There is, indeed, just ONE episode in which she doesn't mess up his name. I'm not certain of the season but it's the one when Angela and Kevin end up going to a Huey Lewis and The News concert together and Angela starts to have a crush on Kevin afterwards. Well, in this episode, Angela is apparently so head over heads for Kevin that her loving emotions allow her to get Mr Belvedere's name right. She finally calls him Mr. Belvedere and he really is taken aback. However, when Angela realizes that nothing can become of her and Kevin, she goes back to the bungled names.

You're right! It's "The Crush," season 3, episode 15:

Angela: Hi, Mr. Belvedere.

Mr. B: What did you call me?

Angela: Huh?

Mr. B: Oh, I'm so sorry. It's just this is the first time you've ever called me by my right name.

Angela: Well, I haven't been myself lately.

I just rewatched that episode and you were right ! Angela does indeed say, "Mr. Belvedere" and no one says makes any notice.

You gotta love Angela, LOL.

Just watched the episode "Mr. Belvedere's Wedding: Part 2" and while talking to Heather, she called him "Mr. Bumpercar." LOL
