When did the Owens get a dog?

I remember in one of the episodes the one where Wesley is running for his class president, there's a dog in the episode that he calls Spot. Unless I missed something, it seems out of the blue. Hope someone knows what that's about, thanks.

He gets the dog in the episode called Spot.

The dog is also in the episode called 'Stakeout' where Wesley is watching Shock Fear Theatre on TV. Both he and Spot are wearing 3-D glasses. It's probably one of the funniest moments on the show, ever.

I see there is a season six episode coming up on Antenna-TV called 'Fixed.' It is about Wesley having to get Spot neutered.

Spot is also in season 5's 'The Ghostwriter' which aired today.

And Spot is in season 5's 'Almost Heaven.'

That is the cutest dog.
