Brice Beckham was one great child actor!

He's probably my favorite sitcom kid ever!
He was so natural and I liked his chemistry with all the other actors!
I usually dont like young boys in sitcom because they always comes out looking fake or trying to be too cute (Jonathan in "Whos the boss" is a great example).
In my opinion Wesley was and still is the best sitcom kid there ever was!

Agree 100%! I'm just catching the reruns now, after not having seen this show in 20-plus years and Brice was a natural. Some of his lines and reactions are priceless.

Absolutely !

Definitely agree. Sometimes they wrote him like a bitter old man, and it's funny to hear those lines come out of a kid's mouth. What personality he had. He was the Dennis the Menace of the 80s.

Yeah, that's exactly how they wrote him sometimes, like a bitter old man. So funny!

A long time ago I heard somewhere that he was the inspiration for Bart Simpson. After seeing the series again, it seems plausible.

reply

Yeah, I could totally see that.

Wow ! I came to this board just to say that. I've just started re-watching Mr Belvedere after all these years and I have noticed that Brice Beckham is AMAZING !!!! Yes, he deserves all those exclamation points. When I watched this as a child, I didn't pay much attention to the acting but now as an adult, I can see that he was really great. So funny with an EXCELLENT delivery.

Yes he was really good. I also have just recently started re watching Mr. Belvedere. Watched it in the 80's and loved it. I was so happy when Antenna TV was bringing it back. Wesley is really funny, he is a brat, but a lovable brat! A really good child actor!

Exactly, totally a lovable brat! You don't love to hate him. You just love him. Sorry about my enthusiasm for the show but with so much crap on tv today, it was great for me rediscover Mr. Belvedere, like getting back in touch with an old friend.
