Anyone else disturbed....

by Putter's diaphragm line? I keep hearing it as coming out of Lisa Simpson, and that's just creepy.

reply

I wasn't disturbed...a little shocked at first, but the next go-around when I heard it I figured 'that's just Putter', cuz we don't know how old she's supposed to be but apparently it's not too old, and she's already saying a whole bunch of stuff, like calling Hubie Pyatt and f - ucker, gotta love that one though.

reply

Not really. It's good for kids to know about birth control, even at an early age.

What is disturbing is that my mom and I did the math and found that Yeardley Smith was 21 years old when she made this movie. No wonder she says "It's about time" after having her first period.

Actually, what is really disturbing is that you & your mom can't tell the difference between a film character and a real human being. So what if she was 21 when she made the movie? Just cause Yeardley Smith was 21 doesn't mean that "Putter" was 21 also. I'm sure she was cast as a teenager not as an adult. After all, she is grounded the majority of the movie. I don't think 21 year olds can or will tolerate being grounded.

Actually, I haven't seen the beginning of the film in awhile... but I seem to remember that the relationship between BJ and her brother was a little disturbing. I mean, I seem to remember her in her swimsuit being almost suductive around him. I don't know. I'd havbe to go back and watch it again.

I think y'all are crazy. You know how much bathing suits cost? A hell of a lot, and it probably wasn't much better in the 80's, so you work with what you got even when that ain't much. And if you'll notice, Binx wasn't paying a hooting holler to his sister half naked, all he could think about was Vermont and snow.

reply

Yea he really was obsessed with Vermont. LOL, I live in the North East and I can only dream of living in Corpus Christi. I could not do my lines if I was him. Helen Slater is one awesome woman!!! I would not be able to concentrate on my lines seeing her in that bathing suit. LUCK Y FELLA!!!!! LOL

reply

You DO realize that they are real-life siblings, right?

reply

They are not, they just by coincidence have the same surname.

reply

YOU do realize that, uh...NO they're NOT. They've said time & time again that they AREN'T related. If you read the trivia section on Christian Slater's IMDB page & scroll down to the bottom, the 2nd to last entry says:

No relation to actress Helen Slater, who, ironically, played his sister in the movie The Legend of Billie Jean.
Not only that but Christian Slater's real last name is Hawkins. Helen's is Schlacter. Do your research & make sure you have the facts right before you try to correct someone else when in fact, you are WRONG!

Well you know what, Mystic, it ain't that uncommon...a LOT of people think they are brother and sister in real life. I talked to a guy last night who said somebody told him they were really related.

reply

critic thats a really stupid remark.. since you seem to think you know alot about the place .then you must be inbred..is your uncle your dad

reply

[deleted]

actually i dont live anywhere near texas either.. i just think what you said was ignorant.. and i dont hold back either...i understand its just a movie but still you seem to know alot about inbreds.. so..

reply

[deleted]

People don't 'look' inbred, but if they did your whole family would probably be a dead ringer.

reply

[deleted]

Yea That's her. She does the voice for Lisa Simpson.

reply

God, do people understand that those thoughts dont cross most siblings minds. Especially growing up in a trailer or anywhere together they were probably physically sick of looking at each other much less emotionally --thats the real mystery.

reply

I remember one time watching "ER" and there were two people playing a brother and sister where the sister was pregnant because she let her brother get in bed with her because he was sad because their mom had passed. The nurses were supposed to keep the situation hush-hush but they were discussing it at the desk, unaware that the father was standing there when they said something about it.
