Some things that always bothered me...

1.) Why isn't Max ever referred to by his name? He's referred to as 'The Man With No Name' in Bartertown yet he has a name, I understand if he wants to keep his anonymity there, but why wouldn't he at least tell the kids his name when he says he's not Capt Walker? This never made sense.

2.) When Ironbar shoots the pig killer through the door of the train cab, the arrowhead that went through his leg was massive, there's no way Max could pull it back out the opposite way without it tearing off the pig killer's leg. What should've happened was to pull the arrow in the direction it went into leg, it would be less damaging.

3.) The monkey tracks Max on the Gulag horse all the way into the desert while dragging a water bag with no way to open it and drink some for himself? What? No way that monkey could go that far, the horse freaking died going that far into the desert without water. Then Max carries the monkey under his shirt and collaspes in the desert right on top of him! The monkey would be dead from being crushed by Max! Yet minutes later we see him ok with the kids.

4.) Why is there a great promo picture of Max with short hair holding his double barrell police shotgun over his shoulder when we never see Max get his shotgun back after checking it into Bartertown in the beginning. In fact that was the only time he used it and he had long hair. What the hell, was there some missed scene?

5.) No way Ironbar would be using a hand car train to chase the heroes at the end, that was just lame and thankfully short lived. Also, he would've been killed when he was on the back of the motorvehicle that got ran over by the train, instead he was lying on the cow catcher, that was just dumb.

6.) Max runs into the jalopy pilot at the end and he doesn't do anything to him for stealing his stuff, I mean he could've at least punched him, very disatisfying! In fact the jalopy pilot got away without being punished for stealing in the whole film! And there is no way he could jump out of a jalopy flying at least 40 mph and land perfectly in the seat of Max's vehicle in the beginning, no way. He would've bit the dust and Max would've caught him and kicked his ass.

Some great thoughts here: in spite of all the criticism it receives, this movie DOES make you think. The best explanation for #5 is "the filmmakers just wanted to have a little fun".

As far as #1 goes, isn't there an exchange earlier in the movie between Master and Max that goes: "Me Master" "Me Max"?

She puts on the film of him: King is white and in the crowd...

Yes, he says it. Says "Me Max" really fast, but he does.

As I see it:

1.He never told anyone his name nor would he care for anyone to know. His name was nothing anymore. The ''ring announcer'' for Thunderedome called him the man with no name after a second of thinking when announcing him because....well obviosuly he didn't know his name.

2.You may have a point but this a common movie theme.

3.Again movie lies. They probably wanted to highlight that Max's best friend/most reliable ally at this point in life is the monkey as the dog was years earlier in The Road Warrior.

4.Don't know.

5.Yeah,whatever.

6.At that point they were extremely pressed by time to get away from Aunty's people.Max just figured to make the best out of the situation.

Even as a kid that bothered me but I guess you're supposed to ignore that for the sake of the joke.

It's just that though, a promo picture.

Yeah it's just cheap comedy. His character surviving would-be death scenarios was some kind of running gag.

Heck Max shouldn't even know what the guy who absconded with his possessions looks like. =P

1. His name isn't revealed by the Thunderdome announcer because Aunty wanted him to be kept anonymous. Kill Blaster and slip out before anyone could wonder.

4. Promo shot.

5. The point was that Ironbar was incredibly tenacious. That he kept surviving certain death was basically a running joke, like the villain Jaws always surviving mishaps in the James Bond series. It wasn't meant to be realistic.

I cant understand why you are looking for logic in a grab the cash movie cause of earlier success...especially when its made in the 80s...not many movies made sense in the 80s and people at this time was to retarded to even questioning movies and how they were made and why....so its no point...this was one of the movies that came out in the 80s that didnt make sense in much...they just wanted some fast money cause of the name Mad Max and the success of the first two...bet they where all high on cocaine at the moment and didnt even care about anything than money....

~If the realistic details fails, the movie fails~
