Auntie wasn't that bad

When you think about it Tina's character wasn't really that evil. Her biggest flaw was wanting Master killed but that little sh*t was a dick. Shutting down Bartertown just to force Auntie to publicly admit how important he is? That prick needed to get got. Can't rebuild civilization with little divas ruining it for everyone.

So I can forgive her transgression since she basically was leading a new civilization. Kick that little turd into the sty.

I thought it was Blaster she wanted killed, as she needed Master to keep the machinery running. They described Master as "almost family," so my guess is they probably started off as equal allies when they started building Bartertown. As the town grew and became more powerful, it seems a power struggle developed.

He may have been a dick, but he also clearly had his back against the wall, with his only real protection being his ability to shut down Bartertown. That was his only real ace in the hole. He was also in a position where he couldn't really teach what he knew to anyone else, since then he would no longer be needed. He may have felt pressured or threatened by Aunty (who apparently made all the laws and controlled everything else, including all the guards), so he had to flex his muscle in any way he could to maintain his position.

I think Aunty's plan was flawed from the start, since Master would have eventually died, and all the knowledge required to keep things running would have died with him. He probably wouldn't have cooperated that much, even if they kept him in the pig sty. She would have been far better off just to placate him and Blaster, let them believe that they're in charge.

sorry my bad. you're right it was Blaster the wanted dead so she could easier manipulate Master.

She was trying to, but it had already gone rotten. She was making all the same mistakes the people in the old world did (backstabbing, betrayal and dirty politics) which is why Max sounded so cynical when he referred to Bartertown as "real civilized".

all things Master was dabbling in apparently.

reply

Yeah, that's my point. The two leaders of Bartertown were more concerned with their petty power struggle than with looking out for their people, which was why their new "civilization" was already a failure.
