The Story that may have inspired MMBT (now a novel)

Originally written to be Mad Max 3. That's quite a claim but it's true. Growing up in Australia I never had any interest in Australian films, so I didn't see the Mad Max films at first. When I did see Mad Max 2 I was blown away and immediately wrote a synopsis for Mad Max 3 called “The Steel Prince”.

Interesting claim. I have also heard that Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome was originally a story about lost children and when the creators were wondering who finds the lost children, they decided that it would be Max.

But this does sound interesting.

You can find a similar claim for just about every successful film ever made. There's one author out there (I don"t recall the name) who claims to have written the original story that later became both The Terminator and The Matrix.

It's something you kinda-sorta worry about as a writer, but as the old quote goes: "Don't worry about people stealing your ideas. If your ideas are any good, you'll have to ram them down people's throats."

Wild claim. So why doesn't he make Max a character? Did he hope to write is this way so if it were rejected as a Max sequel he could publish it as a book? So many questions.
