Any details about the second director, George Ogilvie?

Just saw this movie again after a really long time.

I was wondering if anybody could tell me more about the context in which Miller shared director duties with George Ogilvie? The guy is Australian so I'm assuming he's not a yes-man brought by Warner. I just want to know what he brought to the movie, what was his relationship to Miller and how did the shoot go.

Thank you!

From the trivia section:

George Miller lost interest in the project after his friend and producer Byron Kennedy was killed in a helicopter crash while location scouting. That may explain why Miller only handled the action scenes while George Ogilvie handled the rest. The film is dedicated to Byron Kennedy.
