Novelization
The novelization says it took Max four days to walk to Bartertown on foot, 250 miles from Sydney. Ironbar's full name: Ironbar Bassey. Max wanted his monkey back because he didn't trust humans. He wanted his dune buggy and camels back but the monkey meant a lot to him.
