There's a promo for The Voice that shows the Thunderdome, and they even sing the ending theme to the third Mad Max movie "We Don't Need Another Hero"!
I immediately recognized what was their inspiration for that promo, but do people still remember this 30 year old movie... which barely grossed like 36 million at the box office and is regarded as the worst in the Mad Max trilogy?
It's not like they were recreating the moon scene from ET or Indiana Jones running from the giant boulder? Do you think most people thought of the promo as an original idea?
Isn't their target audience much younger? Shouldn't they had parodied something more recent like Real Steel or something like that?
