Julie and Wanda's fates? (Spoilers)

Toxie takes out Bozo and Slug in that car chase, no question. However, the fates of Julie and Wanda arent quite as clear. One of them is burned at a sauna and the other supposedly stabbed with scissors. In some versions, that's the last you see of them, and it's assumed that he killed them. However, I've also seen a scene in which they're shown later in jail, and the one who was attacked with scissors has her hair cut off and the other laughing at her. Was this an out take or deleted scene, because I've only seen it once, and seen the movie several times.

Obviously the franchise has a habit of killing a character, and then they're seen again in another scene or one of the sequals, most notably, Cigar Face.
