What other (non-anime) animated movies are there based on comics where the animation style and the content very closely match the comic? The only other one I can think of is Persepolis.

Man I used to watch that so much when I was a kid...that and Fantasia were staples. Disney Classics were in rotation too, but not in the same way.

There were a lot of Superman cartoons in the 1940's.
