Not sure who else knows but just after the book was realised When the Wind Blows was adapted for B.B.C radio.
This was even before it was an anmation...does anyone have any information on this I would love to know more.

Yes, my father taped a copy of the radio play (sadly the tape is now lost) and I remember listening to it avidly as a child and teenager. So much so that I preferred it over the John Mills animation!

For fact seekers out there, the role of Jim was voiced by none other that Peter Sallis of both Last of the Summer Wine fame and (more recently) as the voice of Wallace in the Wallace and Gromit animations!

Hilda was played by Brenda Bruce, a British character actor whose career spanned 50 years of minor roles in film and television.

I believe the BBC sell a copy of the audio version as it was originally broadcast on Radio 4.

Hope this was of some interest to you!

Thank you simon for the info...I thought I was going mad...

The thing is I have been very lucky this week as I asked about it on this forum I use (The British Horror Forum) and someone P.M'd me to say they had a copy and I was sent it.
I have to say it is even more chilling than ethier the graphic novel or the animation.
If you want simon P.M me and I can send you a copy as it is certainly something worth having.
