C. Walken

Yea one of his best roles/performances. Big time underrated film

I just got done watching this movie on MGM movie channel, I can't believe I've never heard of this movie before (then again I never knew the MGM channel existed either so that's two discoveries this morning).

I thought the movie was really good!

There's a lot of good acting and big names in it, but none better than Walken. The way he could change from charming to chilling was brilliant.

I agree with the OP, Walken's performance was definitely Oscar worthy. Paul Newman was good in The Color of Money, but not better than Walken. I could be biased because I just watched At Close Range...but I don't think so.

Did Walken even get nominated?

My only gripe with ACR is not enough Crispin Glover. That guy can really steal a scene (see River's Edge).

Still, I'm glad I was lazy this morning and discovered this movie along with the MGM channel. If it plays more movies like this,
I'll be watching it a lot more.

It's really sad how many people have never seen or heard of this movie. I ask people all the time and have yet to meet another person in person who has seen it. It is quite a diamond in the rough. It is one of my favorite films of all time.

I do agree that more Crispin would be nice. I also would have enjoyed some more Keifer Sutherland. For me C Walken was the best part of the movie but I also loved Sean Penn. Basically... I freaking love this movie!!!!! And more people need to see it.

Oh btw... I dont think this film received any nominations. Award shows suck IMHO
