In the end, why did Brad, Jr....

have to arrive at the courthouse via helicopter and with his face covered?

I just wasn't made for these times. (Brian Wilson)

My guess is for security..and for the element of surprise to having to testify against his Dad and the gang...Not sure if it was like that in the real trial...

reply

They were afraid one of the gangs associates would attempt a hit on him to avoid him testifying at trial

His Dad killed his brother, Tommy, and his girlfriend, Terry, as well as the other teens. It looked like a good idea to keep his face as unknown as possible to protect his life.

ETA - Also, that was the late '70s and that really does make this a period piece in terms of changes in security and in technology.

~~~~ SCANDAL - "Thinking is for losers!" Best satire ever televised.
At the time, Bruce Jr. was in the witness protection program. It's was for his own security.
