shareThree films come to my mind that are somewhat similar to At Close Range. In Flesh and Bone (1993) and Sweet Sixteen (2002) there is a similar father-son relationship. In both, the sons try to lead a normal life and stay away from the crime, but their criminal fathers are intent on preventing that, so the sons have to confront them. The third one is the famous Boys Don't Cry (1999); the similarities include the portrayal of rape and murder among people who knew each other taking place in some God-forsaken American rural state and the fact that it's based on real-life story.
