I just saw the movie and was confused about a scene where one of Brad Whitewood Sr's gang members (Tony Pine)was shown in a bed and was in pain, such that he had to put a rag in his mouth. Was he shooting up? I did not understand that scene. Anyone have any idea's?
Well, it wasn't really from "out of nowhere" - earlier in the film when Brad Sr. was introducing the gang to Brad Jr., he says: "And this is Tony Pine, he's epileptic". I think they put that in the film because it was starting to get tense in the gang due to all the f-ups.
Yeah, you're right. It definitely upped the intensity. I guess I more-so meant that it seemed more was going to happen, but he just started freaking out, then bit a towel.
He was having a seizure. As a side note, you should never put anything into the mouth of someone having a seizure -- it increases the risk of aspiration and of blocking the airway. It is physically impossible to swallow your tongue and it's better to bite it than to interfere with breathing.
I thought it was someone in Brad's prison cell, and he was trying to kill himself, since he had something in his mouth and was moving around uncontrollably, i couldnt tell who he was or what he was doing as it shows him in the dark.
Was tony pine in the cell with brad, as i think brad was still in prison at that point ?
That character was based on the real life Ricky Mitchell, who was an epileptic among other things. A rather loathsome according to the detectives/agents who had to work with him (he ended up turning against the Johnston brothers).
