If I don't see anything I like on t.v. and but want to have something on in the background
Godfather is another one Ive seen 5 million times and probably half the time I'm doing something else, but just enjoy having it on
what is it about these type of movies - is it the atmosphere?

I totally hear what ya saying, but for me this is a movie that I genuinely get in the mood to watch from start to finish every now and then. Hehe. Then again, any movie I like I’m gonna watch all the way through unless I need to do something else! :-)
Anyways, yes The Color of Money has nothing on the original (Newman for my money is as great as ever, though.) However, it’s pretty well-crafted, perfectly acted, and just damn enjoyable. A solid sequel to an all-time classic.
The Godfather and Godfather II are definite background movies for me as well. Another one is Dazed and Confused. Probably for the awesome soundtrack as much as anything.
shareClockwork Orange is a pretty good background movie. So is Pink Floyd the Wall and JFK.
