30th Anniversary

This last week was the 30th Anniversary of its release. I did not see it until a year later when it came out on video and a friend introduced me to it. It is still one of my all-time favorites. I loved its pace, even and mysterious that kept your interest. We do not fully know what is going on until the middle of the movie with the flashback. The ending was not over-the-top endless stungs, but rather a simple, satisfying ending that closed it off for any sequels, which should have never been made. It had a dose of 1980's cheese, but it is still overall a very marvelous film.

The Highlander sequels were a piece of trash and ludicrous. Highlander 2 set in the future and let Conner McCloud and Remirez being aliens from another planet rather than immortals. Highlander 2 was ignored by the third installment of the Highlander series, Highlander 3: The Final Dimension became a carbon-copy of the first film and it was terrible. Highlander 3 was ignored by Highlander 4: The Endgame and it followed Duncan McCloud from the TV Series. Highlander was the best movie by cult fans that left the sequels useless. in the end, there can be only one.
