Instead of having the first five issues of this short lived comic book series devoted to Conner fighting an army of super soldiers created by the Kurgan, I think the writers should have tried doing a reimagining of the original film so the fans could get the chance to see what the story would have looked like in the timeline of the television series.

I only read the first six issues in the form of a trade paperback. Overall, I thought it was okay, somewhat hard to follow in parts because of the narrative jumping back and forth in time between the 1960's and the 1980's. The remaining seven issues are split up into two story arcs, one involving Duncan trying to save Conner from the affects of a dark quickening and the other is a prologue to "Highlander-The Source" which explains how the post apocalyptic setting in that film came into existence.

that was exactly what i assumed it was going to be. such a missed opportunity.
instead they try to have these pre-1980 storyline that seemed too farfetched to fit in with the more grounded tone that the tv series had.
then they go about making Connor essentially have a Dark Quickening from beheading the Kurgan..and trying to behead Duncan...it was just too over exaggerated.
what would have been great was if they had shown stories of what Connor MacLeod was up to in the 1990s. while viewers were seeing the events of Duncan MacLeod on the tv series, it would have been a real treat to have readers see what events were happening with Connor.
