Didn't Bev find condoms or something in the wallet?

That's how I remember it when I saw it years back. Maybe I just have a dirty mind or something. Tee-hee!

I remember her finding something like that and going "Howard!".

Well in the version I recently saw, when he was sleeping and she went through the wallet there was no such scene.

I'm guessing it's just my imagination?

I watched it last night on DVD, and yes she did find a condom in his wallet. Did you see it on TV, like on one of the channels that normally edits out stuff like that? If you did that's probably why.

I just bought it on dvd labeled "Special Edition" and there are a few scenes missing. I remember the movie very well so I was a bit disappointed to find the Playduck centerfold in the beginning missing as well as the condom in the wallet. Even the tongue in the cigarette lighter was cut out for some reason. This was the only special about this edition.
Since I'm living in Denmark this is the only edition to find on dvd... Just too bad. We have no censorship here so it bugs me a lot that these few scenes were missing.

As far as I know the SPECIAL EDITION is the only DVD of this film, and the scenes of the condom, playduck, etc. were still there.

Bugger... Then I feel even more ripped off because these scenes are definitely missing from my dvd.

Are you from the U.K? There appears to be two versions available on DVD here, for some reason. When it was originally released in 1986, it was cut back for a PG certificate, because the 12 rating didn't exist at the time (not until Batman in 1989). When it was finally released on DVD in 1999, they upgraded Howard the Duck to a 12, with a banner on top of the box calling it "the full uncut version", but after a certain point, they re-released it on DVD in a censored PG cut. I'm not certain if it was the original "Howard... A New Bread of Hero" cut or a new edit, but either way it seemed like a waste of time to me ; the only people that would be interested in this film today would be people in their late 20's/early 30's, who wouldn't have any difficulty walking into a shop and buying a DVD with a 12 rating.

IS THIS SOMETHING YOU CAN SHARE WITH THE REST OF US, AMAZING LARRY?!?!

Nope I'm from DK... I wasn't aware that there ever were two different version. I see no use in this kiddies version I apparently ended up with. Too bad.

Yeah, she finds a condom that isn't even in a wrapper in his wallet. Maybe he recycled them?
